Procedural Team

The Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St. David’s Medical Center (TCAI) is supported by a large, dedicated team of nurses, technologists and tertiary staff. These nurses and technologists combine extensive knowledge of electrophysiology procedures with years of experience in the field.

During a procedure these personnel fill many roles. These roles range from working hand-in hand at the table side with the physician to focusing on the safety and comfort of each patient. In addition to those, each staff member is also able to decipher the complex pattern of electrical impulses inside the heart. This expertise allows the physician to focus on curing the patient.

With the dizzying array of advanced systems involved in electrophysiology, a lab can quickly fall behind the curve. The nurses and technologists of TCAI are also among the most experienced in the world in the operation of these advanced mapping and imaging systems. This enables TCAI to remain on the leading edge in the race to improve every facet of technology involved in electrophysiology and has lead to TCAI being one of the first to utilize almost every new technology over the last several years.

Ultimately, it is the quality of these people that sets TCAI apart and has allowed it to remain a leader in the field of electrophysiology.
